Experience :

1997 to present - Working in England on projects for Alcatel, British Telecom, Northern Telecom, France Telecom, Ericsson, Eureau, CNES, GEC Alsthom, European Gas Turbines, EDF, French nuclear power industry, Antea, Elf, Pemex, Petrobras, etc... and numerous patents and abstracts for French and British agencies.

1990 to 1997 - Freelance translator in France. Also worked for Swiss agencies on medical topics.

1986 to 1990 - Freelance translator in England. Specializing mainly in telecommunications and computer software.

1985 - Helped found Linguasoft [which became part of the Alpnet Group together with Interlingua – now absorbed by SDL ], specializing in the adaptation [localization] of software for foreign markets. U.K. Production Director and U.S. Vice-President, Technical Support.

1983 to 1984 - Started Interlingua Croydon as a franchise of Interlingua. Carried on with freelance work for Interlingua in the field of computing. Spent most of 1984 on the adaptation of educational software for foreign markets.

1976 to 1983 - Worked as staff translator for Interlingua ( U.K. ). First in the Latin languages Department (translating French, Spanish and Portuguese). Worked on ESA projects. Became Head of the Russian Department, and finally Director of Translations, with a brief period in charge of foreign language typesetting.

Education :

Post-graduate research for D.S.I.R. [Department of Scientific and Industrial Research] in coastal erosion, at London University.

B.A. Honours degree in Geography and Geology [specializing in Geomorphology] London University
